Research in Prof. Micalizio’s laboratory focuses on advancing new methods and strategies in synthetic organic chemistry to enable the discovery of natural product-inspired therapeutics.

Interests span reaction design and development (creating new tools for complex molecules construction), natural product total synthesis (targets are used as inspiration to challenge the power of our in-house technology), and function-oriented synthesis (synthesis strategies that are established in our natural product synthesis programs are advanced to drive discovery of natural product-inspired agents that have potential therapeutic value).
