Research in Prof. Micalizio’s laboratory is focused on advancing synthetic organic chemistry in a manner that provides unique and enabling technology capable of driving efforts to discover natural product-inspired therapeutics.

Interests span reaction design and development (creating new tools for complex molecules construction), natural product total synthesis (targets are used as inspiration to challenge the power of our in-house technology), and function-oriented synthesis (synthesis strategies that are established in our natural product synthesis programs are advanced to drive discovery of natural product-inspired agents that have potential therapeutic value).
